Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization
The Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization (Lausanne 4) was convened in South Korea from September 22 to 28, attracting more than 5,300 people from 200 countries to talk about the global mission to accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The main topics covered not only the church, mission, and the Holy Spirit, but also the environment, justice, persecution, sexuality, and the younger generation. Alongside the publication of the State of the Great Commission and the Seoul Statement, Lausanne 4 aimed to "let the church declare and display Christ together," addressing challenges for the unfinished task of global evangelization and calling for unity and collaboration.

On the first evening of Lausanne 4, Dr. Ruth Padilla-DeBorst, a theologian and advocate for social justice, delivered a message about the Christian’s responsibility to address systemic injustice. Speaking from her experience as a Christian leader in Latin America, Ruth emphasized that justice is not optional for Christians—it is at the very core of God's call.

Lausanne 4 Plenary: God’s Mission Empowered by the Holy Spirit

In the first missiological engagement plenary of the Fourth Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization entitled “God’s Mission Empowered by the Holy Spirit” on September 23, speakers demonstrated dynamic testimonies and rational experience of churches led by the Spirit, highlighting that “God is at work.”
